Australia

In Australia, the market for energy recovery from waste has just begun with the construction of the first Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility in Western Australia. Energy recovery is an effective way to manage non-recyclable waste and provide baseload power. We believe we can contribute to the development of the EfW industry as our work prevents landfilling of the incinerated bottom ash, and reduces the negative impacts from the extraction of virgin raw materials by producing a manufactured aggregate that contributes to the circular economy.

The Netherlands

In The Netherlands, we use in-house developed and patented technologies in combination with industry-standard equipment to design and build efficient processing installations. We have developed an innovative wet processing solution to assure the right quality output in line with regulation for the Dutch Green Deal. The clean aggregates produced are suitable for civil work and can be used without restrictions, and has been approved by the Dutch Rijkswaterstaat .

United Kingdom

In the UK, Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA) has been used for over 20 years as a construction material. IBAA gives our customers a cost-effective, low carbon, and sustainable alternative to primary aggregates. Blue Phoenix has operated in the UK since 1998 and currently has 11 operational facilities processing over 1.4 million tonnes of IBA per annum. Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plants are a key UK Government strategic solution for dealing with municipal solid waste (MSW) and a more sustainable alternative to landfills.

Germany

In Germany, Blue Phoenix has been addressing the challenge of industrial waste since 1969. We are part of the circular economy; with state-of-the-art technology, certified quality, a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and a high level of efficiency in the transport and processing of special industrial waste. Every year, we process more than one million tons of slag and filter dust for recycling or disposal. Our strong partnership with waste incinerators allows us to process a significant volume of slag, extract metals and minerals and then recycle the majority of it into material that can be safely applied back into the market.

Middle East

In the Middle East the GCC countries are looking to boost recycling rates, they are frontrunning the implementation of new standards for recycling and sustainability and work towards a goal of sending zero waste to landfill in order to reduce their carbon footprint. Dubai has built the largest Waste to Energy facility in the world and the entire Middle East region is set to embrace Waste to Energy to reduce waste to landfill.
